Through my course work at Grand Valley State University and prior teaching experiences I have had many opportunities to write original plans for the lessons I have taught. Students are hands on and minds on in each lesson working up to their fullest potential. Through differentiated instruction, every student is successful in my classroom.
A first grade lesson plan using the children's book If you Give a Moose a Muffin. In this lesson students are continuing their understanding of literature as enjoyment, practicing listening comprehension, and studying the sounds each letter makes in the English language.
Possible activities to Integrate Technology and Literacy into standards based lessons.
A fourth grade science lesson teaching the process of natural selection. This fun activity called Spork and Beans allows students to learn hands on and see how genetic differences allow animals to be successful in their living environments.
A second grade science unit studying the Water Cycle and Taking Care of Our Earth. This unit teaches the basic processes in the water cycle through the integration of literature and technology. Students are also involved in a community service project planned and executed by the class!
A fourth grade unit studying The Market Economy. The unit includes lessons based on state standards which are differentiated based on a diverse group of learners needs. This unit integrates music, literature, and hands on activities to engage all students.
The lessons below integrate extra curricular content areas (Art and Health) into the classrooms. These lessons follow state standards for these content areas and are differentiated for all learners.
