Teaching with 1:1 Technology
Chromebooks
Each of my fifth graders had their own Chromebook this year through a 1:1 technology millage that was passed in Muskegon County. This initiative was great for differentiating instruction and allowed my students to participate in a wide variety of web-based opportunities.
Google Classroom made it easy to push daily announcements and assignments out to students. Whether we were researching, looking up new vocabulary words, typing a paper, collaborating on Google Docs, or completing a survey using Google Forms, the Chromebooks enhanced our learning.
Using programs like IXL and Moby Max we were able to differentiate response to intervention time for each student based on their needs. Using data from benchmark assessments we were able to create unique paths for each student to supplement or extend their understanding in different content areas.
